So.. I had finished some classwork last night and jumped on some destiny 2. During playing, PC totally shut off (wierd thing is power light led remained lit). Pushing power button like this does nothing. If I unplug power cord and plug back in, power flickers, never makes it to post.

PSU is Corsair CXM 750 watt

Mobo is Asus  X570 TUF

CPU is Ryzen 3600

All the components are about a year old.

Hoping it's the PSU and not the mobo.

There's a chance it's the PSU. If possible try to see if you can borrow a PSU from someone and test it with that to see if it works.

Was there a loud click when it turned off?

Also, see if your PSU comes with a tester. Sometimes it does come with a plastic tool for the 24-pin, so you can connect your PSU to a power outlet and check if the fan goes spinning using the tester.

It might not be totally shot. It sounds like the PSU and not the motherboard.

Check connectors and make sure they're clean and flip the switch in the back of the PSU a couple times. I don't know if it'll fix it, but its worth a shot.

Thanks. Checked all the connections. Unplugged and replugged in everything. Flipped the switch a couple times. No dice. Let it sit powered off (in case it was a heat issue) for about 30 minutes no dice. And I don't over clock it any of that. I swear each time I tried the power the PSU was making a strange sound though. Like a pfft. In that split second where everything would light up than go off.

Thanks. I'll take a look at the box, but I doubt it came with a tester

From what you said I'm pretty sure that it's the PSU and not the mobo. Something might be blown inside your PSU. To be honest the Corsair CXM you have is okay, but not that good.

One thing you could do is try to buy a new PSU, connect it and see if your PC is working. If you buy from somewhere like Amazon, they will still accept returns if it's not the PSU.

You can also try to buy a new cheap PSU first, but that might be a waste of money.
