660 ti driver help!

Go to solution Solved by bradscoolio,

Thanks! Will I be able to use this before me Pc freezes? ;)

Mash f8 repeatedly after turning your computer on until you get to a DOS screen that'll ask you what way you want to boot. Use your arrow keys to select 'safe mode with networking' you'll be able to go into the site and download the program to install. Then use the program to delete all nvidia display drivers, then you can safely reboot and install the correct drivers :)

Booting into safe mode boots windows without any drivers so your screen won't go black.

I have a GeForce GTX 660 ti. A friend wanted to test he's two 560 ti's on my system.

We uninstalled the 660 ti drivers, swaped the cards and installed the new drivers.

But I forgot to remove the 560 ti drivers, and now my system wont let me uninstall the drivers, and only let me use my PC for about one minutte before it freezes.. :/

Ok, let me get this right.

Your friend wanted to try his two 560tis in your system. So you uninstalled your 660ti drivers, and then installed the 560ti and its drivers. Now you put your 660ti back in, but didn't remove the 560ti drivers?

Install Driver sweeper via safe mode and use it to clear the graphics drivers :)

you could try refreshing windows 8 so it uninstalls all the drivers as if you re-installed windows 8 but keeping all your applications.

I have a Sabertooth Z77 board, and I don't see the option

have you used windows update recently?

if so you might be able to revert to a time before you uninstalled the 660 ti drivers, thus fixing the problem.

try doing this to get into safe mode:

since you have that minute of your pc before it freezes go into the start menu and type msconfig.

go to the boot tab and check "safe boot".

then restart the system

after getting into safe mode do a system restore to a time before the 660 ti drivers were uninstalled.

windows 8 is rubbish, use windows 7. but for your problem the best option is get in to safe mode to get into safe mode with windows 8 you need to press shift + F8 repeatedly. then do what bradscoolio says. or you can either unistall all the drivers for the 560 and the 660, reboot your PC and install a fresh copy of the 660 drivers. anyway you should get yourself with some programs like tune up or CCleaner to clean the registry, for this kind of issues its very handy tools.

let us know how it went.

with me whoever, ahead who can

just disable the drivers while there is no graphics card installed then install the 660ti and install the appropriate drivers
