Zotac AMp Extreme 2080 Super,80°C under heavy load,normal?

Guys,this card was a gift from an ex girlfriend,and costed like my monthly income for 6 months 😕

I really don't want something to happen to it.

Yesterday I played Senua: Hellblade Sacrifice which is very GPU intensive game and temps reach to 81 C.

In Far Cry 5 I get like max 75 C.

Dunno,I mean yeah there is power over 2x8 pin,but sounds to me that is much.

Since I'm not able to open the card,the only thing maybe I can try is to change stock fans on my NZXT Phantom 820.

I changed the exhaust fan with Arctic F14 but it did nothing.

My assumption is that these case fans are pure garbige.

Yeah there are 4 fans,but since I don't understand these fans specs that much I assume my airflow in case is quite bad.

Would changing fans improve cooling performance of the card?

Hell,I can even open the side panel and see what would happen in that way.

I did some googling about this model of the card and seems like even famous youtube sites got more then 80 C.

So I don't know what to do now?

Look at the pics how is installed,there is D-15 very close to the GPU,but I remember placing this card in other rig,only 2 C lower temps which means D-15 is not responsable for heating the card.

Yeah I can probably undervolt the card which I never did.

So if any,report your 2080 S temps in load.

If you think I can lower temp with better fans,please let me know which one to buy,I only have a choice from my supplier,I'd send you the links to their fans that they have currently.

I suppose 200 mm fans suck in any case.

If you're within the "safe temp" range (which you are) I wouldn't worry about it. Especially under load. That case looks pretty cramped so airflow might be the cause. My ROG Strix 2080S benches in the mid to his 70s, but games lower, but I have a lot more wiggle room in my O11. You could try setting a custom curve if the temps worry you.

Those are normal temps for that card, leave it alone.

Yeah but when you think about it 80 C for an Nvidia card,what the hell,it's not AMD...and the card is hot as hell when I touch it.

Even that it has 3 fans,seems to me that Zotac did pretty lousy job in colling this beast.

My 1080TI will hit 84c and has for years now. 

 

They do indeed run hot since they're basically the bleeding edge at the time.  Zotac isn't the best brand for an AIB, but it's within spec.  Also, your case airflow could be better.  Gotta get that hot air out of the case, not just off the card.

How is it lousy if your card performs perfectly fine within spec? Of course it's going to be hot, 80C is close to boiling. Different manufacturers are going to have different fans, etc, and will cool differently. Just because it hits 80C doesn't mean it's bad lmfao. Plenty of Turing cards run in that temp band.

Check with other brands like MSI and Asus temps with 2080 S (triple fan cards)...Gigabyte too.

Zotac cards are also notorious for having big coolers with crap performance.

Damn.I forgot I have fan controller on my case.

Now I crancked up the fan speeds to max and got 4 C lower temp.

Good for now.
