Hey all,

I'm in the market for a new system and I've pretty much got it all figured out except for the case. I'd really like to build an matx "gaming" system / workstation. So far so good, there are plenty of decent matx cases available that would do the job, however I noticed that most of them are fairly big considering they only have to house an matx board. For example, I fell in love with the Fractal Design Define Mini, with plenty of drive space (which I'll need) and yet enough space for a pretty decent GPU, however that case is "huge"!

Does anyone happen to know any alternatives that have enough space for at least 3 3,5" drives (preferably more) and space for one or two SSD's? Sound dampening would be ideal, but not a must.

EDIT: I forgot to mention the budget, let's say about 150 euros at the very max.

I have considered the 350D, but it's a bit too high for my liking. Plus it doesn't over too much drive space either. I'm assuming it wouldn't be too hard to mount drive in the 5,25" bays, I'll have to do some research on that.

More suggestions are obviously much appreciated! :D

I kinda like bitfenix prodigy but I dont own.  Also, It seems the bitfenix phenom M is the newer cooler version.  or that one has a lot more cool advertising.  I just thought they had sorta a cool design.  whatever you choose I think it should have USB 3.0 as a lot of the matx cases seem to be lacking this..   if the case you like doesnt have sound dampening, maybe this wouldn't be too difficult to mod by adding some kind of your own sound deadening material?

another great way to dampen sound it to use SSDs and skip the optical drive. :)

I'm considering forgetting about 3,5" drives for storage and use 2,5" ones instead. Especially since they tend to be quieter and obviously easier to find a place for ;-)

So now I'm considering the SG10 or the SG09 since they they are both awesome looking and tiny! Does anyone know if the short cable PSU's are absolutetly necessary or could I get away with a normal sized PSU in those cases?

A standard ATX psu would work but the short cables help.
