I was trying to install some app(a pirated vst)...I accidentally clicked ok on something in the installation box...since then this(the info on the right) has been on my desktop ...I uninstalled the app...but it is still there...help me get rid of it.

Just go into windows wallpaper settings, and set a new wallpaper? does that not work?

This is one of those "yeah, you screwed up" type of moments where you just have to do what you have to.

Go back to a previous backup, reinstall Windows or try your best by using an anti virus (but then you're not sure if this is actually gone).

Interestingly, this looks like BgInfo, which is not malicious. Since there was likely other software installed, run MalwareBytes from https://www.malwarebytes.com/ to start. If you're still not convinced that the malware is gone after running Malwarebytes, do the following:

  1. Grab Autoruns from https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/autoruns
  2. Run Autoruns.exe
  3. Wait for the list to finish populating, this can take up to 30 seconds
  4. Press CTRL+S and save the .arn file
  5. Reply with the .arn file attached
