Best Remote Desktop software

Hello! I am an aspiring editor and current proof reader. I am working freelance on small projects at the moment but my day job has me traveling a lot (yes, still in this new crazy world) I am looking into VPNs and remote access software to take advantage of my rig at home while it’s sitting Idol instead of investing in a $1500+ laptop to lug around hotels with me. (And avoid it get stolen/damaged etc). I have a cheaper laptop that I want to be able to securely remote into my home computer and work on my projects from there. 
 

Any suggestions?

Parsec is pretty good. Same with moon light.

 

Id still get a fast laptop as the experince will be much better, and things like offloading mieda will work better.

Teamviewer or even better set your own VPN and use RDP.

Parsec works extremely well in my experience, but I don't know if relying on remote access to your own desktop is the best thing to do. If it gets turned off or loses network connectivity then you'll be having a rough time. 

If you don't need super fast responsiveness then you could just use RDP.
