How come my 144hz monitor displays 60hz content more smoothly than my 60hz monitor?

It's weird, but Youtube content looks way smoother on my 144hz monitor than on my old 60hz. Could it be the upgrade from DVI to Displayport or does it have to do with Gsync/frame delivery?

Frame pacing is better.
