Hey guys, I need a new pc since my family uses the one I use a lot and i game on it a lot so I kinda need a new pc, what's a good build?

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Roblox(I play with family), fortnite, minecraft, rocket league and steam indie games which I don't really mind since they run 60 fps integrated graphics.

Other details I'm upgrading from and intel 8250-u and integrated graphics. I have a keyboard and mouse. I have a phillips monitor which isn't the best but it is great!

for fortnite you want dedicated gpu. other games you could run with ryzen 5 3400g. right now is bad time to build a pc. either wait or consider a prebuilt

but you cannot really upgrade the prebuilt so there is that. that is a future problem

Are there good options for a scratch disk for photoshop or adobe apps, I plan to do light editing too.

That doesn't have a GPU, you wouldn't get a video output. I really wouldn't recommend that.

you can browse graiglist and kijiji and see if somebody in your area is selling used gpus and you can test them

 

with the leftover 300$ you should get rx 5600XT or 1660 super atleat.

why is this?

EVGA BQ is not that good psu. Corsair CX is much better psu overall.

Also the case is really bad on airflow.

The SSD is pretty bad.

also r5 2600? there is i3 10100 which is better at games for only 100$

you can alwaus upgrade the ram since the mobo has 4 slots. for those games 8 gigs are enough. if not can always buy 8 more.

seems good. but the mx330 mesh "X" version is 10$ cheaper on Newegg. seems like a decent deal.

BX500 is not good though. Better to pay a bit extra and get something like MX500/wd blue/860evo. The difference is not that huge while performance is significantly different.

It does, but it only comes with one exhaust fan, while the 330-g air comes with 3 argb fans, so I do think I'll be going for a 330-g air unless it wouldn't change the airflow much/affect the component temps much.

This would be my suggestion, left enough money for you to try and find a decent used GPU as your chances of getting anything new which is better than a 1050ti for this price-range are pretty slim unfortunately. I obviously don't know about availability in your area but a 1660 super or 580 8gb should be what your aiming for, might require a bit of lowballing and waiting though. If you manage to find a cheap/good deal, investing in some extra storage would be a good idea.

b460 is a little overpriced, but that's alright. B460 boards only will only let ram run at a maximum of 2933 mhz iirc, and instead of the p300a- Not a bad case, just there's better imo, and comes with only two fans, I'd get a cougar mx330-g air, otherwise the rest of the build looks good, however I would make minor changes to most of the components, but It's nothing serious.

This stuff tends to slow down enough with time for it to become noticeable.

Also try installing a game and it might take hours making PC unusable while it's happening.

The point is, price difference is small, performance difference is not. No reason to save $5-10 compared to MX500 IMO.

Its a better idea going for a used last gen GPU right now than getting a 3060 at MSRP which is next to impossible. The p300a is imo best in class for this price category, great airflow and OP can add in a couple of extra fans which will cost less than $30. The ram is actually the cheapest module that will run at 2933 on PcPartPicker so I went with it.

The mx330-g air has more fans and a similar layout, the focus g/focus g mini also does as well (the mini can go on sale to under $50). The p300a is a good case, there's just better for cheaper.
