I recently bought a second hand rx 480 4gb. I tried overclocking it, but I couldn't do more than 1100 mhz core and 1800 mhz memory. Anything over and it crashes. The thing is that my card has Samsung memory.I had hynix cards that overclocked better.( Samsung is supposed to be the best Samsung>Micron>Hynix). Did I just lost horribly at the silicon lottery?

You could try replacing the TIM and the pads to see if that helps.  Overclocking isnt gauranteed.

I thought the RX 480 was 1120 mhz core, 2000mhz memory.

Are you sure this card doesnt have a mining BIOS on it, for example?
