Linux AMDGPU F@H memory leak bug - need testers!

Hi guys. Figured I'd make this post to hopefully raise awareness and confirm I'm not the only one having this problem. My full specs are in my signature, and I'm running Arch Linux with KDE Plasma and AMDGPU GPU drivers.

With F@H installed and running, my RAM usage will slowly creep up until it has filled up completely and I am forced to reboot. While this is happening, no abnormal RAM usage is shown in F@H, ksysguard, or any other system/process/RAM monitoring programs; FAH uses less than a GB at all times.

I know it's F@H because it does not happen when it is completely uninstalled. I can also confirm with these threads describing the same issue:

https://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=106&t=31962

https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=249665

https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=205137

I would greatly appreciate for several groups of people to test and see if this bug is present. Would appreciate info from:

1. Arch (or Arch-based) users with an AMD GPU using the AMDGPU driver (like me).

2. Arch (or Arch-based) users with an Nvidia GPU.

3. Ubuntu (or Ubuntu/Debian-based) users with an AMD GPU using the AMDGPU driver.

4. Ubuntu (or Ubuntu/Debian-based) users with an Nvidia GPU.

5. Any other OS that can fold and use the AMDGPU driver.

To test, reboot your computer and note idle RAM usage (so we have a baseline for "normal" RAM usage). Start F@H and periodically check RAM usage.

Other considerations:

1. Same problem on LTS kernel.

2. Same problem on older kernel versions, however, I do not remember exactly when this issue started.

Would love some help and more info here. Thanks!

i'm running Ubuntu 18.04 LTS on my F@H server, i'll reboot and see what happens.

with only F@H open htop reports 2.89GB used. my server got 256GB installed tough so it might take a while for it to build up and become a problem.

running an EPYC 7551 and and RTX 2080Ti by the way, on a supermicro platform.

That's kind of what I expected, good to know either way.

As mentioned above, I am not expecting any problems with Nvidia cards (and possibly not on Ubuntu) but thanks for testing. As I mentioned, F@H will not show as using much RAM, but you will notice your used RAM climb higher and higher with seemingly nothing using it.

Four Linux folders, 2 ea Ubuntu 20, 2ea Mint 20

Recent power outage, uptime 3 days 2 hrs

All systems are around 3GB ram usage.

All Nvidia, think they're all up to Nvidia 460.32 driver.

Alright, I'm more convinced now it's a problem exclusive to AMDGPU cards on Arch Linux, and I suspect on 5.x.x kernels. Thanks.

Of the four systems, base hdwr, mostly Intel, 1ea AMD, but a wide spectrum of gear. Mostly older ebay, recycle.

1ea: Ryzen 5 3600 X570

1ea: Intel i7 4770 Q87

2ea: Xeon E5 Supermicro
