hello i am installing a gt 1030 from newegg that im going to buy soon

i need to know if my psu can handle this thanks

Nope. Not with a cheap 300watt psu it wont. You need to upgrade psu first.

It will probably be ok.

These low end graphic cards are basically designed to go in pre-built PCs.

 

The CPU alone uses about 65W.

The GPU is about 30W GPU according to specs, but lets assume it can maybe use up to 75W for what it can consume at most... (PCI-e slot max power delivery)

 

If we consider everything else... There's no way you're exceeding 200W regardless.

 

I'd personally say it should be fine with the 300W PSU. Even if it's a low end one.

My sister's pc was an hp prebuit with a 280w psu and it can handle an i5 2400 and an rx560 just fine . A gt1030 normally has lower power than a gt1030 so its fine.
