As long as its in the 70's or less, it should be fine for a very long time.

What temp does it run at when idle? If its not in the 30's or 40's at idle, that would indicate something like a bad mount is likely. If it is 30's or low 40's at idle, then your chip just runs hot.

at idle its like 40 ish... so like bad chip? 😞

Do you have your PC set to high performance power setting which does't let the CPU clock down? If so, yea likely just not a good chip. If the CPU does clock down at idle and its in the 40's, heatsink may not be mounted correctly.

Had it in balanced? What does that mean?

Also no need to be depressed. It doesn't mean its "bad", it just means your particular one may run a bit hot. Nothing "wrong" with that, just luck of the draw. It still functions normally, and it will last longer then you will plan to ever use it almost guaranteed. I have NEVER seen a CPU die of old age, ever. I have only killed 1 CPU, and that was because my motherboard VRM took a dump and took the CPU with it. CPU's are amazingly resilient and they last forever.

That definitely seems warm for a CPU that is underclocking. Are you sure the heatsink is mounted correctly? Thermal paste is properly applied, and you took the plastic off the bottom of the CPU heatsink? Are the heat sink fans actually spinning? Is the mobo BIOS set to like quiet fan mode? Are the fans both pointed the same direction on the heatsink so they are not just blowing into each other?

If so, yea, its just a bit of a warm running chip.

Everything u said is correcttly done. Except that the fan curves for the cooler fans.. as far as i remember is set to default.. so the curve is very like... Teathered towards silence more than ramping up...

I have another question.. i did some digging around and found out that noctua is releasing the chromax version of its nh u12a in q2 of this year.. so like should i wait for the black one or just buy this normal one? Woll chrome colour look good in all black build?

I really don't think there is a compelling reason to buy a cooler. I would almost bet a case with more airflow would help more, what happens if you take the side panel off, do the temps drop much?

Didnt check with side panels off. Will check tomorrow...

But i mean if in any case.. if i buy a new cooler.. would u recommend getting chrome on or wait for black one?

In this whole conversation i forgot to tell u the most important reason i dont mount cooler facing the back.. i suffer from OCD... and mounting the cooler towards back means in my peripheral vision i have to see the fams rotating. That will drive me crazy.. so i mount in top position so there are less moving parts visible

Furmark is notorious of pushing cpus waaaaay too far so these are not good benchmarks at all.

It sounds like a bad mount opr not enough thermal past or the thermal paste hasn't spread properly. I had this issue with my 10900k at Aio, when i took the Aio off I noticed a spot where it has no thermal paste which was causing a spike in temps. start off with that and work your way around.

that case is pretty bad. remove the sidepanel and then test.

also that small cooler with 9700k seems like not the best idea.

also the cooler tkaes the air from the gpus backplate so there is that.
