How to change the screen resolution in kali linux in Hyper V

I was unable to install kali Linux in virtual box (it gives me a weird "please select for a kernel appropriate for your cpu" error)

if the installation was successful in virtual box, i could have changed the screen resolution to easily

as i have installed it in Hyper V, when i go to settings, i can't change the resolution

what can i do, here are some screen shots..

Add it to the vm, and install the drivers from there.

Add the iso like you would add a bootable iso. Then the vm can see the files and install the drivers.

Have you tried using

xsetroot -s

although resolution seems to be the smallest of your problems.

Well the fact that you can't install it or that scripts aren't running because they don't support the distro. Your resolution being messed up isn't a major concern imo.

use xrandr

open temrinal commands listed here

"xrandr"

will give a print out of every detected display and what resolutions are supported

"xrandr -s ###x###"

targets a screen resolution and tells xorg (the default display server on Kali) to output the display appropriately. By running xrandr -s it will only affect a single display which is targetted as your primary.

If you need a gui tool, Arandr also works

(I know the yellow sucks, currently hacking on my dwm config right now)
