Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Ryzen 3900x, AsRock Rack X570D4I-2T, Corsair SF600, nvidia 2060 rtx [probably but have other options], Noctua nh-d9L

 

Hi All,

 

I’m looking to build a small form factor compute node to help a local high school where I volunteer. Because of COVID and accessibility (I have a static IP), I’m looking to host the server at my house. The case has to have a very small footprint, on account of my wife not being terribly happy with my builds spilling out my man cave and into other areas of the house. I’m also a little concerned about thermals. I think the cpu cooler should be okay, but from everything I’ve read the mobo runs very hot. So I’ll need to have room to fit extra Noctua fans. I’ve got a couple of different options for the gpu, but I’d like stick with Nvidia on account of needing it to give the kids a deep learning capability.

 

I’ve looked at fractal node, silver stone, nzxt [but not the h1 because if I start a fire...probably the last build I’d ever be allowed to do].
 

Are there any unknown gems out their that would be good fit for what I’m looking to do?

Here's a few good ones to look at. For minimum footprint similar to an H1, the SSUPD Meshilicious would be the strongest contender.

Thanks TV! That’s some great variety there. And the meshilicios does look pretty sweet. It’s great to know there’s some good options. I definitely appreciate your help!
