So the past week or so ive been noticing stuttering in my gaming especially in harder to run games like COD Warzone, and its never happened before. Even when i'm just starting a game I can feel stutters. In less hard to run games like Fortnite, I will play for a few hours and notice lower fps over time and occasionally a crash. Is there anything I can do to see what the problem is and see if it's a problem with my hardware or just help geting my games to not stutter and crash? BTW i've already redownloaded both games and checked and redownloaded my drivers and windows is up to date. I also took a picture of CPU Z if that helps.

Hello and welcome to the forum!

I can't remember what the default multiplier on that chip is. I'm assuming it is not overclocked, and that the CPU is boosting?

Please mark as helpful and informative so my profile looks better.

quote or reply to me if you want me to reply to you.

Thanks

That's when you're CPU or GPU, whatever it is, starts underclocking to make less heat, and when it hits a certain point, shuts off to save its life. So download some sort of accredible CPU monitoring software and run a CPU benchmark for 15 minutes to check.

Trobleshooting (my method) =
- Install "Process Hacker"

- Run it as admin --> Search bar top right ---> Type your username. (you see how username field.)
- Scroll down to process hacker. Select all AND THEN CTRL click Process hacker (which unselects it)
- Delete Key. (killing all non-essentials)(will not crash you)
Run test game.

Memory leak. (probly)

I've never used that program so I can't say anything about it, but the analysis process seems to be the right one - and outside of some rogue app making issues... the very first thought I had was "memory leak"...

in which case, simple solution: ISLC (intelligent standby list cleaner)

Go search HWMonitor in the search bar, and the do unload HWMonitor. Then, search cinebench and download that. Then fire up fine such, bring up HWMonitor, and let cinebench run for at least 15 minutes to see if your CPU has adequate cooling.

what is that i just need tips to lower cpu usage so my games dont stutter

I actually don't think thermal throttling is the issue. Just go in task manager and check the programs that are open. Hit ctrl+alt+delete and click task manager. There should then been a button that says advanced and click that. See if there are any big apps that are using the CPU.
