Discover Domain Controller without having to change ipv4 dns

Hello,

 

I work for a Company as IT Support

 

I saw that new computers as soon as we connect them to wifi were able to join the domain 

 

how can i acheive this?

 

im using windows server 2012 r2

 

Im a noob to dns

Change the default dns servers the DCHP server hands out?

 

Make the DNS records public so every system can join the domain(probably not optimal)

Ok so how i got it to work was, i changed my Routers DNS to Primary as the Domain Controllers and im able to join perfectly fine without editing Hosts file or changing dns settings on local computer, and i put the 2nd dns (alternate) as googles dns

 

WHat is your opinion on this

 

Im a noob to networking
