NBA 2k14 not working

My brother in law recently bought nba2k14 on steam to play. He has i5 3570 cpu and no gpu. It says that he is missing a file whenever he tries to play it. However, when i try to play using his files, it works. Do you know what the main problem is?

what? are you saying that the game dosent like him so it dosent run when he plays it and when you play it work?

or are you saying that when you try on your pc it works and it dosent on his?

right click the game in steam go into properties and then local files and verify integrity of game cache,

 

i take you you downloaded it to your computer aswell and it worked, in that case do that ^

I have i5 4670 and gtx760 on mine. is the gpu the problem for him?

he's done that and still won't work. and he moved downloaded file to his external drive and plugged on mine and it worked is what i am trying to say

I'd check the steam forums. I had a similar issue. I had to change some permissions. I also think the game might need a GPU to run.
