Movie Watching Preferences

Do you guys watch your legally acquired movies ( the ones filmed in wider than 16:9 ) in cropped , but missing some side detail , or not cropped , but smaller image and black edges . Weigh in down below

I am used to letterboxing because I have a 16:10 monitor, so I just watch everything non-cropped.

Non cropped I like seeing everything.

I would consider a widescreen pan and scan (not really done) to not miss anything in the original shot, but a letterbox works well enough.

I haven't watched any legit movies recently, all I've watched is a pirated version if frozen.. When I do obtain it legally, I will watch it unveiled in all it's glory!

I watch movies as they were shot. If it is in 2.35:1 the dop will have a good reason to do it that way. And who am I to change their composition. 

 

BTW: I really like 2.35:1, looks so nice in my opinion.
