Movie Watching Preferences

Do you guys watch your legally acquired movies ( the ones filmed in wider than 16:9 ) in cropped , but missing some side detail , or not cropped , but smaller image and black edges . Weigh in down below

I watch them uncropped, I'm not missing any details when I watch a movie.

cropped ofcourse, cutting of the sides is stupid imo

Non cropped.

I would consider a widescreen pan and scan (not really done) to not miss anything in the original shot, but a letterbox works well enough.

I haven't watched any legit movies recently, all I've watched is a pirated version if frozen.. When I do obtain it legally, I will watch it unveiled in all it's glory!

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

I watch movies as they were shot. If it is in 2.35:1 the dop will have a good reason to do it that way. And who am I to change their composition.  :P

 

BTW: I really like 2.35:1, looks so nice in my opinion.
