I'm going for a rig that will do 1440p in max settings with high fps. I have never built a PC before, please critique this build list! Thank you!

So I'm guessing money is not an issue, but you don't wanna spend too much?

If everything works than it's probalby fine, maybe faster RAM since it's Ryzen.

PC:

Ryzen 5 5600 |16GB DDR4 3200Mhz | B450 | GTX 1080 ti

PCs I used before:

Pentium G4500 | 4GB/8GB DDR4 2133Mhz | H110 | GTX 1050

Ryzen 3 1200 3,5Ghz / OC:4Ghz | 8GB DDR4 2133Mhz / 16GB 3200Mhz | B450 | GTX 1050

Ryzen 3 1200 3,5Ghz | 16GB 3200Mhz | B450 | GTX 1080 ti

if you're playing esports titles and even some more demanding ones like cod cold war you should be fine but don't expect to run cyberpunk at 1440p max with 240 fps

maybe a smaller-form-factor keyboard? I bought a gigantic huntsman about 1 year ago and have switched to a TKL form-factor keyboard and it saves so much space and is way more comfortable for daily use, unless you specifically need a numbpad of course. Also you can find a much cheaper TKL keyboard which could be better.

Is there even someone who can run Cyberpunk at max settings?

yeah, money isn't too big of an issue, but I don't want to spend a crazy amount either, what the average cost of a good rig? Also what RAM would you recommend for Ryzen? Thanks 🙂

Yeah I don't expect that haha, I just want it to run comfortably somewhere in between, so the slightly more demanding titles

People usually recommend if you can afford 3600Mhz and 16CL or lower CL

if I'm not mistaken, someone correct me if I'm wrong

I will take that into consideration, but I'm more concerned about the PC itself. I'm not sure how well it will perform since I have no prior experience

Maybe I am mistaken, maybe they recommend 3200 or 3400 not sure

I heard 3200 is pretty decent, but I definitely understand that 3400 would be faster

I knew I was mistaken, they recommend 3200 but you could find one with lower CL if it's not too expensive

Oh, why is 3200 better than 3400? Ill check pcparkpicker for ones with lower CL

I'm not saying 3200 is better, but it is said that more just yield little performance increase.

So after 3200 it's more money for small performance boost

ohhh gotcha. On pcpartpicker I don't see any 3200 with CL lower than 16, but there are some that are 3400 below 16

Depends what fps are playable in your opinion. My 3080 manages 4K Ultra with Ultra ray tracing at about 40-50FPS with DLSS set to quality. Just ultra without ray tracing is running at about 60-70FPS.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

Isn't that like a second fastest GPU by Nvidia tho?

Well on my e-shop they have some of those, pretty expensive though.

If you wish, 3200 16CL is best bang for the buck, but if you find resonable price with something faster than I'm not holding you back.

I see, Ill continue doing some more research then. Overall, do you think this build would fare well at 1440p on max settings? Not on cyberpunk ofc but on slightly demanding games

This would easily run Cyberpunk at least on stable 30fps, don't quote me on that though..

I'd switch out the keyboard for something like a GMMK as it has better quality. I'd also try and get 3600MHz CL16 RAM. What's your definition of 'high FPS'?

I will check out the keyboard. FPS wise, I'd say anywhere from 100-144 fps on slightly demanding titles

Well yes, but for 1080p or 1440p mid-range GPUs can also output high enough frame rates in this game.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.
