Replacing Cooling

i have a quick question can the cooling be replaced at anytime? i’m currently planning on running a stock cooler until i can get enough money to get a Kraken Z63

what do you mean can it be replaced at anytime?

as long as you shut off the system of course you can replace it.

on a side note the kraken z63 is a terrible cooler for the price, I would go for something like the arctic freezer ii 280.

Sure. Just turn off the system and unplug it, remove the cooler, clean the cpu from thermal paste that is on it, apply new thermal paste (rather too much than too little) and mount cooler. Depending on case and cooler it might be neccesary to remove the motherboard from the case to replace the cooler.

 

As @Letgomyleghoesaid the z63 isn't a great value cooler better to be had in terms of value and performance.

Dont forget to use 99.9% isopropyl alcohol to clean residue on the Cpu ihs and the cooler

Hmmmm, z63 have the led screen, do you need that? Get the x63 is the same only without led screen and cheaper. 

If you want rgb then get ekwb aio 280 is perform neck and neck with the Arctic liquid freezer 280. One has rgb one does not depends on what you like.

I mean if you don't have that stuff a bit of just brute force paper towel cleaning works plenty good.
