Hey guys,

I recently upgraded from an i7 4770k to a newer i5 10400f and i'm a little concerned about the temperatures in idle wich are in the 23C. I heard it could cause condensation and problems resulting from it. My cpu cooler is a noctua but i couldn't tell you the exact model, resembles a NH-U9B and the fan is running at 600 rpm.

Thanks in advance.

Not from 23C @Cyberborg...

Low CPU temps = MUCH GOOD, VERY WOW!

Condensation becomes an issue when your CPU temps start approaching the 0C mark.

Okay thanks the info i saw was wrong then ^^

I knew that the cooler i had worked great 🙂

what software are you using to monitor temps? 23 is weirdly low, unless ambient temps are below 10C.

anyway, condensation may be a problem below 15C or so.

yes agreed, 23c is slow low im pretty sure not even the noctua d15 can do that, unless your using fridge as a cooler

I'm using the software from my motherboard(B460 asrok phantom gaming 4) and Hardware monitor. And no my ambiant temps are not below 15C ^^

Lower power chips with adequate cooling can easily run near-ambient. The decently-overclocked G3258 in my server balls on a stock cooler and runs about 6C over the ambient in my closet while idling. I'm sure if I were to slap a larger cooler on it, it'd be even lower.

And would you look at that, the OP has a power-sipping chip with a good cooler, so there's 2 of 3 things needed to get temps like they have. Now all we need is a somewhat lower ambient, maybe around 18 to 19C, and we have the holy trifecta of low idle temps.

You're not going to have any issues with condensation unless you're doing some real headassery and submerging the heatsink in ice water. Conventional cooling, whether it be an air cooler, AIO, or custom loop, will not go below the ambient temperature of the room unless there's something else forcing it to. It's literally impossible.
