Cleaning tip for screen

Tspeecs

Hi there, I have some concerns regarding cleaning my LG 4K monitor. Although I do know that LG recommends cleaning the monitor and displays with lint free microfiber cloths but I need to ask a question. I have been blowing loose dust particles off my display myself, (blowing air by my mouth, being careful about not spitting) and been doing that since months. Suddenly I realized if I would be introducing moisture but I talked to the LG live agent and they assured that as long as I'm not using liquid directly onto the screen, I would be fine. But I'm really concerned about this and wanted to talk to a product specialist. Can you pleasure if I didn't do any real damage to screen. Please try to understand my concern and guide me properly

By blowing on it (not canned air) you are not putting it at risk.  The amount of humidity in your home is probably not much lower than the amount of moisture from your mouth when you blow with a tight-lipped mouth position.

I use a cotton cloth on my screens, and in some cases I spray the cloth with windex if it has more than just dust on the screen.  I have worked in A/V production for several years, and the LCDs we use get windexed at least once a week with no problems.

It must be true, I read it on the internet...

You're stressing over nothing here, monitors can take far more abuse than a little saliva.

If you're looking for a decent cleaning solution, I'd recommend taking a look at either Calyptus or Screen Mom cleaners from Amazon. I would advise spraying the cleaner into the included cloth and wiping down your monitor.

The best way to clean a LCD display is with a very slightly damp cloth, so moisture from ur breath isnt going to affect it at all. Worry not.

We used to be a replacement LCD screen dealer.  When selling used or refurbished screens, we would always make sure to clean them to the point of being spotless.  To do this, the screen was placed flat on a safe work table, and then given a light spray with diluted alcohol (works well to clean spit and kill bacteria - I could've started a cloning factory with the amount of spit I've seen...) before wiping it clean with a cloth.  All we had to do was make sure the liquid didn't get into the edges of the screen (where it could've leached into the electronics), and no harm was done.  If the monitor is cleaned while it's in the upright position, you can still use water or alcohol to help with cleaning as long as it's sprayed onto the cloth instead.
