Hello all! Thanks for tanking the time. I am looking for a new pair of headphones. I currently have Sony MDR-XB600. They are very nice and comfy however a little small on ears. I am looking for comfort and on ear headphone recommendations. Anything could help. Not looking to spend more then 150$. Please and thank you.

on ears or over ears? Generally all on ears will be uncomfortable.

I'd do research into pad swapping, if it's even possible on those.  A $30-60 investment is worth it if you like the can's you have now.  For pad's I know that brainwavz makes good stuff and dekoni are premium.

I'll do some research for you so you don't go in the rabbit hole of trying to bang your head on a wall to try and do something impossible in the name of saving the bucks.

ok nvm, found this video and they're glued on.  Fine for direct replacements but bad for universalish swaps

*as for open vs over I think it's pretty tough to get can's that are on ear and won't be uncomfortable, to many head and ear shapes to rely on putting pads ontop of the ears.  If they all went with some dekoni like padding I could see it but somehow I doubt that's possible.

I would start another post or redefine this one with the price range and source of your headphones.  I hear SHP9500/9600 are excellent and easy to drive but I think they need an adaptor ring to put pads on.  The 9500 + dekoni pads should be just about as comfortable as you can get.  Again I'll do some more research.

*6 year ago zeos reviewed the shp9500 and called them the most comfortable headphones ever.  He has reviewed many since and is known for geeking out about everything audio, but he hasn't steered me wrong.  If you need to pad swap them use these adaptors.  Still researching
