I built my first PC a while ago. Since the graphics card crisis is ongoing I'm working off of integrated graphics. It's not the best, but I'm trying to wait this out. Currently, I have 16 GB of RAM. 8 GB of that is allocated to the integrated graphics. I'm thinking about buying the same kit again and upgrading to 32 GB. I'm not sure if it's worth it. However, I'm hoping it helps by giving the integrated graphics 16 GB instead of 8 GB. I know it seems like a small performance change, but I'd try anything before spending x4 on the graphics card I'd like. Also, in BIOS it tells me I'm only getting 2666 MHz. My RAM is 3200 MHz. I don't know if bumping it up to 2933 MHz would be a huge change, but that's the highest my motherboard supports. I'm huge noob to overclocking and changing BIOS settings. I'd be afraid I'd brick it from booting. I was also looking into Facebook Marketplace and stuff like that to find at least a 1050 ti. I don't play AAA titles honestly, so I'd be fine, but I'm worried about being sold a faulty card and Facebook not giving a crap. My goal graphics card was a 1650 super, but those are completely wrecked in prices. (Also, I did not pay $300 for the motherboard, it's just boosted in price. About $130.)

Also a list of games I'd like to play or play for better reference:

Apex Legends

Minecraft

Rocket League

Valorant

Counter Strike

RlCraft (Which is pretty beefy, however I'm lucky mine can run it at 60 FPS with a few drops)

Fortnite (Rarely)

Gta V

Destiny 2

Hitman (Any)

Rust

Phasmophobia

Hey, you really need a better Gpu rather than an integrated one, you can buy really cheap ones that will do the trick like r9 290 from and etc. and actually have 60 fps on med/high

Can you show me a link where to buy those? I'm looking for about 170 in price I think maybe 200 is the highest I'll go.

This looks like a budget build.  But why are you spending over $300 on a motherboard for a $100 chip?

I said that in my stuff above! It was about $130 when I bought it. I believe inflation due to low stock is the reason or just because it's from a different seller.

I thought I saw on the national news the other day that China was getting back to normal now.

So I was thinking that it shouldn't be too many more months for parts supplies to start getting back to normal.

I wish all that stuff was made here in the US where I live.

The unemployment here in PA is crazy bad like worse then back in the great depression their saying. 😵

I'd love to work in a manufacturing plant making electronics.

Maybe I could even get a employee discount on parts. That would be just icing on the cake. 🤑

You can take down the allocated vram. You won't benefit from it. Are you even filling it now?

As for RAM, you are running at stock clocks for chipset. Have you turned XMP on from BIOS?

No, actually. I heard about XMP, but I didn't know what it meant. Should there be an option for that?

XMP = Xtreme Memory Profile. Its pretty much auto-OC for RAM. Should be with that name in BIOS.

For some odd reason my bios menu doesn't fit my screen properly so it like sucks to read anything. However, I tried and I think I found it. I changed out of EZ mode and it said something about XMP and then I picked XMP I. Which says 3200 MHz, but literally it still says 2666 MHz in task manager when I rebooted it. I picked the XMP profile however, when I looked down it never changed the actual RAM frequency. It still showed 2666 MHz.

Have you tried auto-adjusting monitor?
And don't trust task manager.
Get CPU-Z or something like that.

I'm using a TV as a monitor for right now. I'm planning on buying a monitor soon. I tried using the remote to change the picture settings and it was still the same. I just believe the BIOS doesn't understand the screen size since it's a TV and not a monitor. I was able to get ROG CPU-Z from Armoury Crate. It shows this in memory, CPU, and BIOS version. I haven't messed with BIOS because I don't really want to install a version that will mess up my PC in some way.

Thats actually your TV not having active overscan and unable to adjust. If it has PC Mode, that should fix things. This is mainly issue with older TVs,

You don't need to update BIOS for this. Its something which is available from the box, but not enabled automatically. Comes down to every guide you watch/read about first look on BIOS "Check that you drives are seen, boot order is correct, enable XMP/DOCP (the AMD variant)".

Here's Asus guide where to find setting https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1042256/. Do note that you have budget motherboard (= manual doesn't have full guide on BIOS settings), so I can't really help beyond this as I can't check what kind of tabs you have.

I got pictures of the BIOS if you need them. You can clearly see it has the profile on, but the frequency at the bottom isn't changing. image.thumb.png.8045cece1ee474a3bae082a8994213ae.pngimage.thumb.png.5580fe5bf0a682b0c07837a0c329ac6f.png
