Corsair PSU Cable Compatibility confusion

StarLordRammi

hey guys, here hoping somene can help me understand the chart.

https://www.corsair.com/us/en/psu-cable-compatibility

basically, I need a spare 8/6+2pin PCIe cable for my PSU, I've got Corsair HX1000, I have a spare cables left over from my older system that has Corsair HXi 850

Am I able to use the cable from HXi850 to HX1000?

thank you

Yes. The only difference in pinout between type 3 cables (from the HXi) and type 4 cables, is that type 4 has four extra pins on the 24-pin connector.

From the chart? Look at the 24-pin.

If you need a spare PCIe cable, it doesn't matter.  Like @seon123 just said:

Are you needing another 24-pin cable?

No, only PCIe cable is needed. I was just confused with the chart and trying to make sense on how to tell spart Type and Type 4.

Disclaimer: The only difference between Type 3 and Type 4 cables is the pinout of the 24-pin ATX cable; all other cables (SATA, PCIe, etc) are the same.

How do you know what you have?

It's printed on the connector that plugs into the PSU:
