I was wondering whether the Asus H81M-A would be good for gaming on?

 

Do you know if it has pci 3.0?

motherboards don't really add any performance in gaming, most motherboard nowadays have a pci 3.0.

If you plan on overclocking the no since its an H81 board it doesnt have any bells and whistles that a Z87 board would have

Nope, it doesn't have PCI 3.0, but do you really need it? You have to really try to just max out the 2.0 x16, not speaking about 3.0

I'm pretty sure this board doesn't have PCIE 3.0.

 

Also be aware you won't get any overclocking out of that board before you buy it. Make sure you aren't spending the extra money on a K sku part.

Im using the MSI 770 Twin Frozr with dual 1080 panels. It works fine.

It is a pretty basic board, getting a better board won't add any performance but if you plan  to OC then I would recommend a board with more features,
