Asus PRIME H410M-A 8 pin CPU power connector

Meowster
Go to solution Solved by SavageNeo,

it will be fine since your build uses so little power

So, my sister got herself an ASUS Prime H410M-A motherboard along with a Pentium Gold G6500. There is one problem. The PSU I gave her only has a 4 pin CPU power connector. Do I have to buy a new PSU with an 8 pin connector?

Technically no but what psu did you give her that only has a 4 pin? Sounds like a very old and or pc killer unit to me.

Well,

Its an FSP Group 450W 80 Plus PSU. It was supposed to come with a 4 pin + 4 pin connector but it never did. It was found in my shed but works very well when I tried it with a test rig

It seems to be a Novatech branded PSU. To be more specific its a PowerStation 450. Could be an OEM maybe? I have never heard of Novatech before

Thanks. However, do I plug the connector into the part to the left or right?
