I tried getting my 3600X to 4.3 Ghz at 1.28 V, but Cinebench R23 keeps on crashing.  I want to push my CPU a bit further, but I'm scared of boosting the voltage to 1.3 and above since many are recommending to keep overclocks under that value. What is the "safe" maximum voltage for oveclocking? Especially with a tier D motherboard and a tier 6 CPU cooler too.

CURRENT BUILD (AS OF 08/18/21):

  • CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 3600X @ 4.3Ghz
  • CPU COOLER - Deepcool GAMMAXX GT A-RGB
  • MOTHERBOARD - B550M Aorus Elite
  • MEMORY - HyperX FURY 16GB (2x8) 3200MHz
  • STORAGE - Team Group MP34 512GB, Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200 RPM
  • GPU - MSI GeForce GTX 1660 Ti VENTUS XS 6G OC
  • CASE - Thermaltake Versa H18
  • PSU - Cooler Master MWE Gold 650 - V2 (Full Modular)
  • CASE FANS - Deepcool CF120 Plus (x5)
  • OTHERS - Asiahorse Customization Mod Sleeve Extension (White)

can you monitor vrm temps? you should be able to push it to 1.35 if cpu and vrm temps are under control

So far, running 4.3Ghz at 1.28 V already pushed the CPU temps to 76-77 C before Cinebench crashed. I think 1.35 V will bring it above 80 C, which is super hot to me. I hadn't thought of checking the VRM temps though. Is it still safe and doable?

80 is fine. i'd go max 90 on cpu and max 100 on vrm
