What's the difference between Intel and AMD cpus? Which is better? Which should I get?

2DPrinter

Hello, on my first build and have AM3+ setup currently.

Budget (including currency): wanna buy a CPU for under $200 probably

Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Games like: Rocket League, Minecraft (maybe w/ RTX), SCP SL, and Stranded Deep. Might want to do video editing and Blender.

Other details

My setup:

UserBenchmarks: Game 10%, Desk 56%, Work 8%
CPU: AMD FX-8150 - 53%
GPU: AMD HD 7770 - 11.6%
SSD:  SHGS31-1000GS-2 1TB - 71.4%
RAM: Unknown F3-12800CL9-4 F3-14900CL9-4 F3-12800CL9-4 F3-14900CL9-4 16GB - 36% (I think it's DDR3 ripjaws and sniper)
MBD: Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P
My monitor is 1080p 60htz refresh rate

I am probably going to be wanting to play at 1080p 60fps I guess since that is what my monitor can do. What is a good CPU for this? Should I upgrade my monitor?

P.S. I am looking for low end to mid end setup.

Thanks!!!

if used, get yourself this rx 590 for ~85 https://www.ebay.com/itm/msi-Gaming-Radeon-Rx-590-Armor-8G-OC/114675831667?hash=item1ab3365373:g:TWkAAOSwRVpgFuj9 and https://www.ebay.com/itm/MSI-B450-Tomahawk-AMD-Ryzen-AM4-Motherboard/353381944629?epid=22030521710&hash=item5247348d35:g:DQQAAOSwO0VeUm8Y and https://www.ebay.com/itm/AMD-Ryzen-2nd-Gen-7-2700X-4-3-GHz-Eight-Core-Processor-Wraith-Cooler-Inc/402685336911?hash=item5dc1ea9d4f:g:lxYAAOSweqNgIzRl, in total, you spend- $150 and sell your hd 7770, 8150, and mobo for $150 and without spending any more than you earn, you have a massive upgrade!

Preferably new, but if it was only used for a little while I wouldn't mind probably.

Unfortunately, it looks like some of the prices have gone up on these. I will keep looking for parts though. What is the most I should spend on a motherboard for my uses? $100?

FYI I have a Cooler Master 212 Evo on my cpu already so I won't need to buy a cooler.

Also is the gt 1010 really bad lol? I don't know too many computer parts.
