M/B: MSI Z390 Gaming Edge AC

RAM: 32 GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-2400

PSU: Corsair 850w

OS: Windows 10 Pro 64 bit 10.0.19041 Build 19041.804

GPU Driver: 461.40 

BIOS: 2.0

 

Frames and performance are great @ 1080p. I'm just getting occasional shutter every few minutes. I recently upgraded this computer from a 5600XT. I used DDU to uninsall the AMD drivers and then installed the nvidia drivers. I also used DDU to uninstall Nvidia drivers again and did a reinstall just to make sure something didn't mess up during the driver installation.

Yeah it's simply put a pure 6 core isn't enough for new games. It's basically 100% used so when windows or anything else needs a bit of the cpu you get stutters/freezes. It's why the older 4c/8t i7's and such actually do better for a more stable experience as they tend to have a thread free for that stuff (since the ps4/xone have 7 threads for games available this behavior is transferred to pc now too since ryzen came out).
