Unrecognised M.2

Go to solution Solved by Gazz86,

Hi I have a ASRock B365M Pro4-F board and a Kingston A400 240GB M.2-2280 SATA III SSD but when I go to install Windows 10 it says the m.2 isn't there and in the Bios it's nkt recognised. Any help is appreciated

That would be because you are using a SATA m.2 ssd, in a Nvme m.2 slot. I do not believe your motherobard is compatible with m.2 sata drives.

It's because the M.2 slot doesn't support the drive you're using (an M.2 SATA drive):

Quote

 1 x Ultra M.2 Socket (M2_1), supports M Key type 2242/2260/2280 M.2 PCI Express module up to Gen3 x4 (32 Gb/s)

Return the drive and either get a normal 2.5" SSD or get an M.2 PCIE drive (like the A2000)
