Yeah, it's a little hot, but expected 14nm stuffed in that space.

100c it'll throttle. It won't break, just clean it out.

Problem is access to the processor is very hard, the processor and motherboard require me to de fragment the whole laptop before accessing it.

However if I keep playing as it is right now I’ll be just fine?

Use ThrottleStop, the i7-8750H behaves so much better with an undervolt to it (talking from experience)

I’m a bit vague about any program that affects those componements as I have no idea what I am doing in them and don’t want to melt my pc to shit.

Any tips what to set it to withouy risking anything and does 80 to 95c pose risk to the cpu? or will it stay undamaged?

Hello fellow tech nerds,

I’m having a question about my CPU temperature.

I own a Gaming Laptop designed to run demanding games, however while playing Warzone my CPU (see model above) has temperatures varying between 80c to 95c will this cause any damage?

It won't damage your CPU.

Main: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti, 16 GB 4400 MHz DDR4 Linux - Fedora

Ah okay thanks, at what temperature should I shut it down immediately?

It will throttle itself with no user input. If temps continue to climb, it will power itself off.

And before I go ahead and use the program please send me an uninstallation guide on how to undo all things I've done in case it goes wrong and I need to reset the CPU's settings quickly. Did some research myself and undervolting is very unlikely to completely render your PC useless, especially with the set limits Throtthlestop provides you with many tech experts claim the software is safe to use and the PC can be restarted after a crash, and the settings can be undone, makes me feel a bit more comfy, as with overclocking you can render your PC useless but with undervolting you cannot. (Unless you start clicking things without knowledge of what they do then yes, ruining it is highly possible.) Also did some research on that specific video and turns out more then 80% of the users said it was helpfull, and decreased temperatures by 10-20c, the other 20% said that un doing was very easy and had caused no permanent damage to the CPU itself. All of this combined makes me feel a bit more comfy to test it out myself. In-case it really ruins something I can Always factory reset the computer with the Nova Panic Button (pin-button) to undo the changes, this all together makes me feel very confident in using this software and makes me believe no permanent harm is to be caused.

one question, my power adapter says 135W, is it safe to go below that?

Your power adapter has a maximum of 135W, your laptop almost never draws that much

It's like a PSU, even tho it's a "800W" one it's not drawing 800W off the wall

Alright so 125 is probably my sweet spot that is save right?

Just user the undervolt offset for the CPU core and CPU cache, start with something basic like -0.05V, then -0.1V down to -0.3V, try this with battery AND connected to the wall (for example, my i7-9750h can't go below 1.05V or it will crash, so I can't use ThrottleStop in battery)

If opening ThrottleStop makes your PC crash because of the setting, delete de config.ini file, that's where the configuration is stored and it will open next time as new

For uninstalling, just remove the executable and config.ini file, it doesn't require installation nor uninstallation

With my i7-8750H I could use it with battery at 0.5V @ 1.2GHZ, and the battery life was exceptional, but sometimes it required me to put a normal mode for extra power

For AC plugged I setted it to 0.93V to lower temps but not frequency too much

I'm testing performance in Warzone every single time I change anything just to check for stabillity and temperatures. Noticing a slight drop after changing 3 things it now hits 90c less frequently however haven't got to the major settings just yet, just changed the CPU Core offset to -125.00mv as the video told me to do, no major issues so far, keeping you updated, not noticing any major changes at the moment but I guess those are yet to come

You can use MSI Afterburner (and Rivatuner) to monitor the CPU and GPU stats in real time, it's quite useful to see real time fps, temperatures, usage and frequency

I did, but I'm not noticing any differences after following along the video temperatures still go up to the 90s

What CPU voltage are you having while playing Warzone?

Also, have you set your fans at maximum speed? Some people say "ugh I don't want any noise" so they turn those almost completely off while having terrible temps

How do I set my fans to maximum speed please guide me on how to do the following:

1. Check Voltage
2. Put fans at 100

You can use HWiNFO64 to get CPU voltage readings (or playing in windowed mode and checking the CPU voltage in ThrottleStop)

The software Lenovo Vantage is supposed to come installed with your Windows 10, that's where you are supposed to control your fans, etc

Don't see the option after a quick look in Lenovo Vantage precise instructions please?

This is weird, although I was a bit lost too when using the Y540

@genexis_x any idea of why he's missing the control fan feature? He's using a Lenovo Y530 and want to lower CPU temps, already undervolted the CPU it a bit

Undervolting didn't doo much as I don't know how to tweak the settings to optimal for my chassis..

Did you undervolt the core and the cache? You need to do both. If you need help, post some screenshots of the main window, the FIVR window and the TPL window so I can see how you have ThrottleStop setup.

Try rising the back of the laptop so there is a better airflow for the fans (you can use anything, from a book to post-it stacks, just make sure you don't cover your fans)

Is 80-95c a risky temperature for a PC? Or is it fine? (I plan on having this computer for a year or so.)
