My Zowie EC1 has served me well for the past 8 years, but it's finally starting to break down. Yesterday the right click has stopped registering all together, so I need a new mouse.

I'm looking for simple mice, I've liked the design of the old Razer Deathadder (from 2006) and the Zowie EC1. My friend had a Logitech MX 518 and I didn't care for its shape, I prefer the basic shape.

Only buttons I really need are the forward / backwards and a button to change the DPI, as I play mostly FPS games, rpg's or some slow strategy / builder games so I don't need 10 000 different buttons on my mouse.

I was trying to look around Rtings for reviews, but you can only see 3 reviews before they ask you to pay. Deathadder V2 looked pretty good for me, but I've heard some bad things about the quality of said mouse.

Edit: I don't care at all about the mouse software as I'm not going to install it, so the mouse will need to work without it.

As for the mouse pad, I currently have a large Steelseries qck+ and I've been happy with it I just neglected it and now it's too dirty. I would like to stay in the same size (45cm x 40cm) and with fabric. Is qck still a good mat or are there better ones?

get the linustechtips northern lights mousepad...is very nice....

U can get it at https://lttstore.com

I'm sure it's nice, but it would be rather expensive to import it into Europe. So if there are other other options I would rather buy locally.

I love the G Pro and Cooler Master MM710. MM710 is crazy light (I think the lightest mouse on sale now). G pro you can have the option for wireless, but the MM710 is less than half the price with the same sensor. Plus cooler master does not have stupid software.

If you like EC1 maybe get a new one? Or a similar but different I take it is what you want? I have S1 myself.

Check Vaxee mice, they have two options now. https://vaxee.co/

You can also check https://www.rocketjumpninja.com/ to filter what may fit you and it's a good list from a reviewer.

I added G403 into my list. I haven't tried any lightweight mouse, and after playing 10+ years with big mices, I'll stick to them for now.

Didn't know they still make them and I do have a problem with it. But if they have fixed the awfull scrollwheel I might consider it. I was pondering the Deathadder because it's really similiar.

You can also check

I did watch some of his videos and checked the site. Honestly I wasn't all that impressed but I'll check few other reviews still before making my final judgment.

Yeah they do, with new sensor it's EC1-B as far as scrollwheel you mean the 16-step one over 24-step? Hmm I don't mind either, not exactly sure if new versions changed, they do have few and their colorful Divina versions. You'd have to check. But yeah.

I did some googling and I'm pretty sure I have the 16-step one. Mine is EC1-evo, one of the first Zowie mices they made. I've made so many accidental jumps in CS because of the scroll, and it's somewhat annoying when browsing the internet.

Ahh, yeah it's maybe a more loose scrollwheel too, my mouse is 16-step but it's fairly stiff though, never had the accidental issue. Also reasons they say they opted for 16 over 24-step is to reduce accidental scrolls hehe. Though yeah it was odd to me first when I moved from 24 to 16-step for scrolling pages. But, I guess it doesn't bother me, in general I like it it's rather tactile. I know Zowie has that borrow program, where you get all their mice for testing period and all, not sure how much of a hassle that is, but it's cool.

Also you can check Vaxee they have two mice designs now, it's 24-step optical scrollwheel and similar designs. It's by ex Zowie guys.
