Does all 1050ti can be powered by the pcie?

ShiroEerie

I'm buying the Zotac Gtx 1050ti oc edtion dual fan, but I know 1050ti does not need 6 or 8 pins as PCIE can already power it up. but am not so sure if every 1050ti is like that.

Yeah it doesn't need pcie power, but the one with cannot work with the cable unplugged.

So my suggestion is get the one without for simplicity.

If you search the 1050Ti section on PCPartPicker, there's an option to tick "None" for external power. It seems the higher clocked ones have a single 6-pin, but many have none.

I had 1050ti with a power connector, i feel it's a waste of effort.

The card itself did not perform any better with the one without.

Just adding another cable dangling.
