Hello,

I'm having a dilemma with my audio setup. I'll start with that I really only play games but am looking to better my audio setup. I'm currently using a goxlr mini with a at2035 as my mic and astro a40 as my headphone's. What I'm upgrading to is a pair of HD 660s and a schiit Hel. Where I'm stuck is how to integrate the new hardware with the old. I would like to keep the goxlr because of the volume sliders/easy audio track separation. If anyone has ideas or other suggestions, they would be much appreciated.

P.S I know this is kinda overkill for just gaming.

Forgive my ignorance (studio gear is more my forte) but does the GoXLR directly control volume in the Windows mixer or does it just change the levels to your headphones/speakers ??, if it's the latter you won't be able to control volume for the HEL on the GoXLR, if it's the former then you just connect them both up to the PC.

Sloth's the name, audio gear is the game

The go xlr does both. It can control windows volumes and input output volumes on the mixer.

It be easier if you didnt get the Hel as its also a DAC which you dont need. You only need a amp.

Keeping in the Schiit line up you could get a Magni and a Jack to RCA cable to plug out of the GO xlr into the amp and then you plug the headphones into that.

I'd actually just pick the HD 58X's for that. The 660S's are just not worth it considering Z reviews even thinks they sound very, very similar. You can use that money for something else.
