To start, this is my first build, and I ordered the hardware without too much thought into the PSU. I used the eXtreme calculator prior to buying it, and looked for similar topics with similar builds, but I'm still not confident in the one I ordered. Am I wrong? Or do I need to send it back and get another? I did have upgrades in mind for the near future. Also, primarily used for gaming.

I ordered the EVGA 600w 80 plus bronze, along with this hardware:

Case – Corsair 200r

Motherboard – MSI Z87 MPOWER

CPU – Intel i7 4770k

GPU – Nvidea GTX 760

Memory – 2x 8gb

Hard drive – 1TB

SSD – 128gb

Liquid Cooling – Corsair H60

Drive – DVD/CD RW

Controller - Fan Controller, touch screen

According to the PSU calculator I'm reaching a recommended 451w without overclocking, and 40-50w more overclocked. I added the max amount of fans of eight, when it only comes with two.

So, is it enough?

It should be fine, even a 550 should cut it. Ill confirm in a minute.

EDIT the setup should use ~490W under load (gaming).

Spoiler

Case Bitfenix Ghost, Mobo Asus Maximus VIII Ranger, CPU i7 6700K @4.2 Ghz cooled by Arctic cooling Freezer i30, (barely). GPU Nvidia GTX 970 Gigabyte G1 @1519Mhz core, RAM 16Gb Crucial Ballistix CL16 @2400Mhz. SSD 128GB Sandisk Ultra Plus as my OS drive. HDD's  1TB  Seagate ST31000524AS its OEM, 3TB Seagate Barracuda, 2x 500GB WDC Blue (RAID 0)

If it isn't working absolutely perfectly, according to all your assumptions, it is broken.

Thanks for all the replies guys! Feelin' pretty good about the build again.

@DeViLzzz,

My bad mate, I tried to provide as much info as I could. The upgrades I had in mind would be more SSDs,  harddrives, fans maxed, max memory, and perhaps another GPU. Standard upgrade stuff. By then I'd have the money for a newer PSU, all I was worried about though, was if the current PSU was good for the build.

@Paralectic,

My plan was to get a better CPU, and upgrade the GPU as I go. Even two GTX 760s would be pretty smitten for me. Like I said, this is my first build. I've always built dream computers on newegg, but never had the money to order the stuff. So this computer's performance will be unlike anything I've ever seen.

Thanks again guys, I appreciate the advice!

If you haven't put together your computer yet, I would also recommend returning the i7 and going with an i5.  Repurpose that saved money into a 770.  There is almost zero performance difference in gaming between an i5 and an i7.  You will notice a big performance boost from a 760 to a 770.  Return the items if you can, and go with an i5-4670k and the best GPU you can afford.

@Faceman,

The last thing I ordered was the GPU, and I ended up going with gigabytes gtx 770. I checked the benchmarks compared to the 760 and I'm pretty satisfied now. The estimated wattage with the 770 looked alright on the calculator too, and only a $60 difference. I know the power supply should have been last, but when I upgrade I'll probably end up getting another one with a nice buffer. I might even wait on the overclocking until I get the system fully upgraded, just because the power supply is iffy. Thanks guys!
