Budget (including currency): $2000 usd

Country: usa

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: vr titles, forza horizon, halo mcc, and mass effect legendary edition. Among others but those are the main points

Other details

(budget does not include case, budget is for parts only)

running all at max settings,

rgb parts ( but not required),

case - https://www.newegg.com/black-thermaltake-the-tower-900-e-atx-vertical-super-tower/p/N82E16811133328

, two monitor setup,

air cooled, preferably non water.

Ssd (flexibility on size) and 2 hdd (probably about 1tb each)

high def capture card stream possible,

all peripherals already accounted for so nothing extra needed, and building machine to put a gaming machine at home while i drive around the country in a semi. (Have rog laptop), would be running win 10

parts will be bought over time. Cable management ideas welcome. Any other ideas or recommendations welcome

Here's a list I picked out real quick, buying a graphics card right now isn't the best. And that PC case is pretty overkill for any build unless you're watercooling.

The ram i can see is more or less for future proof. Though i have to agree on the inquiry to the mboard. As for the ssd, im not to worried about size since its main purpose will just be for the os and baseline programs, all games will be stored on the hdd, or another ssd later down the road.

Though thanks for the part list. As for the gfx card trust me I understand about it but this build will probably be bought over the next year or so.

"any" b550 mobo? Yeah, I wouldn't say so.

the sn850 and 980 pro are nice but overpriced. Unnecessary in most cases, a slightly slower and far cheaper ssd should work totally fine.

For 2 grand you should be getting a 3080 if you're gaming.
Basically I don't really like people saying " get anything" because that's a decent way to screw up a build.

The one that JRhaber recommended has more cores and threads. Better for workstation esq workloads. This is a new chip with fewer cores/threads, but will perform FAR better in lightly threaded tasks, such as well, gaming.

Rest og budget goes to the graphics card, optionally you can get a 10400F + cheapest Z490 board. If you want a Ryzen 7 8-core my advice is to go for the ASRock B450M Pro4! 😄

hey so just out of curiosity, took what i was given and played with parts a bit. yes i know its way above a $2000 budget i posted originally but that budget was not including the case, monitor, keyboard, etc... my inquiry is, does everything pair well and not bottleneck or screw itself over to much?
