So I just recently bough a used mechanical keyboard for cheap, and as I expected it has some problems. All the keys work, but three or four of them take A LOT of pressure to even be registered. and the right shift key is super sticky. So I have some questions:

-If I replace the switch & keycap (cherry mx blues) will it fix it? do I only need to replace one?

-Where do I find keycaps that will fit my right shift key?

-Where to buy this stuff in canada?

What specific keyboard is it? You're gonna have a fun time if it's not one of those that are designed to have swappable switches. Have you removed the key cap and press down on the switch stem it self to see if it's sticky?

Assuming you've cleaned out the keyboard and that there's possibly debris inside the the switches, you could attempt this method as a budget "free" option to fix the problem. Try cleaning out the dirty switches. I think this only works for pcb mount, not plate mount.

The keys are replaceable, the previous owner changed them out. It's the CM quickfire rapid

If they're not dirty and just broken, is it a problem with the keyboard or the keycaps/switches?

Well you could test if the keycaps are sticking to anything by testing the switches without keycaps.

It's more likely a dirty/damaged switch or the switch may have a poor solder connection to the pcb. If you wanted to replace the switches, you could buy packs of ~5 switches online. You'd have to desolder the problem switches from the board and solder the new ones on.
