The msrp for a 3070 in Australia is around $800 so I've put it in as that and left a bit of budget if you cant get it that close to the original price. 3600 should be enough for your everyday gaming and the B450 tomahawk is a good value board too.

Slow memory and that doesn't look like a great case either. I don't know why you wouldn't just get a better SSD with more space and discard the HDD. 250GB will just about cover windows and 1 or 2 biggish games. The 10400f is a locked processor and wont allow you to OC the ram.

its not the cpu. it is the motherboard. z490+ 10400f can oc memory as Gamers Nexus said and proved.

You are right. I meant in the fact that you would have to buy z490 board which can come at a more expensive price than getting a Ryzen+B450 combo.

yeah. the main issue with the intel 10th gen was that if you wanto to beat ryzen 5 3600 with 10400f, you need faster than 2666mhz ram. As Hardware unboxed said 2666mhzvs 3200mhz is 5% uplift on games.

But z490 boards are pretty pricey.

b560 boards will allow memory oc tho

Its better value and performance in this case for OP to go with a 3600 and a corresponding B450 board.
