Hi guys,

on my 6700K rig I've noticed today unusual delay when I click to shutdown PC,and my OCD tells me it wasn't like this before.

Immediately monitor turns off but rig not, there is like almost 1 min delay for rig to power off after I clicked shutdown in W10,even after first power ON (no programs running, just desktop).

What could cause such issue?

I suspect it's WI-FI card,I mean wi-fi connection,but not sure.

I know usually wifi makes those kinda hangs/delays when power on/off.

Please do not take offence for my apparent confusion or rudeness,it's not intent me to be like that,it's just my BPD,be nice to me,and I'll return twice better,be rude and usually I get easly pissed of...I'll try to help anyone here,as long as it's something I dealt with, and even if you think I'm rude or not polite, forgive me,  it's not me it's my BPD.

Thanks for understanding.

did u install any software that may be running in the background? that could cause this type of an issue

Hmm not so sure,I really can't remember, maybe I did update something...

How can I check what is causing the delay?

run task manager. u can get to it by right clicking on the taskbar.

in the task manager, there is a tab called processes. click on it and u'll see all the programs going on in the background

If you are using Windows, it might be doing an update, but for the monitor to go off first, not sure what is going on.

Nope,no update.

Because safe mode will boot you with bare minimum drivers and programs. It would tell you if you have a program that's slow to turn off when you power off.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

.....Because a bunch of software are not loaded in safe mode, and so if the problem does not happen in safe mode, it rules in a lot of software, if it does happen in safe mode, its more fundamental.

Ok fellas, so nope it doesn't happen in safe mode,I get immediate shutdown,so some software is messing up my shutdown time.

What now?How to figure out which software or driver?

First, make sure the behavior is reproducible. So go back to normal mode, and shutdown a few times. If it is reproducible, then you would either then have to live with it, or try disabling/uninstalling software one by one until you find out which one it is.

Sorry, but I don't think it's a solution removing all software from my PC.

That way I can reinstall Windows which would take me less time.

Is there a way to figure out which software is causing a hang?

Please first confirm whether you actually have a reproducible problem. Diagnosing the issue without a monitor is not easy so, you're probably better off reinstalling windows if its an option for you. Although of course if you then install everything back, you may run into the same "issue" again.

However, I am currently in doubt that this is a reproducible issue.
