The Hdd can't be detected

It became a problem recently, whenever electricity dies or the plug gets taken off without a proper shutdown is the problem lying on the hdd or the Os. Cause i need to install it everytime it happens.

the computer is an old model HP desktop

How do you install the HDD?

Usually HDD is plug and play.

well it is not that i built it, it is a HP pavilion 23 in one desktop so not so sure why it happens it tried searching the reason why but all i get is to clean the drive and install the os again
