How do I move certain files from on HD to another.

I'm in the process of selling my old Alienware pre-built PC and I'm keeping my old Seagate 1 TB hard drive that came with the system and replacing it with a 500 GB western digital HD that I got for cheap. I want to move windows and all of the dell applications to the new hard drive and whip the remaining files off of my old Seagate so I have a fresh hard drive. How do I do that?

Shrink the partition on the 1TB to 500GB and clone one drive to another.

Ok but how do I do that. I've never had to do something like this before.

Open the search bar and type "diskmgmt.msc".

Select your 1TB partition (should be letter C ) and click "shrink partition". Set it so that there are 450 GB left over, and click "Ok".

Then, get a disk cloning tool and clone one partition to another.
