Get more storage is the only thing I can think of. (Maybe go with a 970 evo 1tb?) or a 500gb 970 evo and a 1-2tb seagate baracua

I'd say ask again in march/april as everything is just whack.

The case is pretty pricey and you can totally get a cheaper one and a far far better monitor in budget like a gigabyte g27q.

i asked him, he doesn't need more than 240 so I think 500 is enough. (He told me that 500 is good)

don't think waiting is an option. He was going to build in october, then december, his parents don't want to delay anymore (and he doesnt, due to him being stuck on an mx 150 laptop)

Thought that might be the hitch. No, but there is an ITX board. Not sure what your IO requirements are.

not much io requirments. Think 3 USB ports is good enough?

Ok just make sure he knows he could get more for his money if he waits but if he needs it soon I can see why he may not be able to wait. I would get a cheaper MOBO though as $170 for an i5 is kinda overkill unless you need something that board has that no other has.

Get a 256 SSD for the OS + 1TB HDD for games and programs. Space fills up very quickly, games are huge nowadays. Buy everything apart from the GPU and wait for prices to go down

Space always finds a way to fill up. Ask anybody you will get the same answer. Plus the end price will be almost the same. Well the you asked for opinions, so the space is wrong and the GPU. Get a CPU with integrated graphics and wait

Two problems with this build...

  1. Micro ATX board in ATX case? It's fine if you need it that way. Wifi cards / dongles are available for cheap if you need wifi.
  2. I would rather use the stock intel cooler and use the remaining money to upgrade the GPU to a 3060ti.

Other than that everything looks good.
