Missing CPU pins cause Bootloop

sdvorak

Hello, I bought a used motherboard with bent pins for cheap and tried to fix it.

There are a few pins missing in the memory area, but I managed to bend everything else back.

But I’m still stuck in a boot loop. When I turn the PC (with known good RAM and CPU) on, the PSU turns after 10 seconds off and on again.

can that be caused by the missing memory pins, won’t it boot and just not show one ram stick, or not boot but also not turn off again?

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-B75N

CPU: Intel G2020

Ram: Kingston 4 GB

unfortunately, yes, but shouldn’t it at least not reset the PSU every 10 seconds

Last time I had a PSU reset and loop it was actually caused by my 4/8pin connecter for my CPU being loose at the top left of the motherboard. (not the 1st time I've done it either)

No I have the 4 pin and 24 pins plugged in all the way a locked. I also checked all solder connections, and found nothing that looked bad.

If there are missing connections anything can happen, probably self-test finds something is not OK and just powers off.
