I need help reinstalling windows

jammer2001

Today my computer randomly decided to stop booting so decided to try clean installing Windows. I somehow ended up accidentally creating a new install instead of overwriting the old one. Now when I try to boot it goes to some sort of instance selection screen and it than goes and automatically selects one, restarts and the following error pops up:

I got it to attempt the other instance and it also fails.

What do I do?

The problem is it is boots to the Windows dual boot selection screen and no matter of which installation I select it than shows that error.

pretty sure ragnarok means to start the install from scratch, grab the USB you used for this second install, which is called a "bootable USB", make it boot to that from your BIOS, erase everything in the partitioning bit, and then install windows like normal.

I forget how to fix the partitions. How do I do it?

what do you mean by "fix"? enter the partitioning section?

Removing the old partitions. Now the installer won't let me delete them.

Format the drives and partitions.

Create a fresh new bootable USB, boot from that, and erase everything else.

Can I just format the drive?

Do this and you can erase things from the installer.

Also, I unplugged the second hard drive I had installed to make the windows installation process easier but the BIOS seems to be scanning for it. Is that bad?

not really from there, no, you'd need a different "OS", you'll need to do it manually, there shouldn't be too many partitions if you have only 1 drive.

And no, that shouldn't be a problem.

I know but the whole problem is that for whatever reason the installer won't let me delete the partitions.

Use diskpart to format.

even if you format them beforehand? And what does it say about the different partitions when you have them selected?

I'd say that's not very easy without guidance, even I'd struggle to bring up a console in the installer right now and I consider myself an advanced user.

On a slightly different but related note, a couple of weeks ago I noticed that my PC was randomly stuttering occasionally. It's still happening even after I clean installed Windows yesterday. Anyone have any ideas?

Since yesterday afternoon I've been having issues with the computer randomly disconnecting from WiFi and not reconnecting until I do it manually and sometimes not even reconnecting. Before I clean installed Windows I very rarely had any problems with WiFi. Do you think it's a network issue or the computer?

Did you install your chipset drivers?

Also, just to be clear its using a wifi card not integrated wifi.
