5600X new build, not posting. DRAM led on.

C3rvineltt

Hello guys, recently I was building a new PC with Ryzen 5 5600X. Today I got my RAM shipped, the final component.

I installed the two sticks of 8GB each and turned on PC.

PC is not giving any display and DRAM led is turned on.

These are my detailed specs.

Ryzen 5 5600X

MSI MPG X570 Gaming Plus

AsRock RX 5700XT Taichi

ADATA XPG D60G 8X2 GB 3600MHz

CoolerMaster MA620P cooler

XPG SX8200 Pro NVME 512GB

Seagate Barracuda 2TB

Thermaltake J25 case

Redrangon RGPS 700W Modular

Things I have tried,

1. Checked the manual to see if I'm inserting the sticks in right slots, it's DIMMA2 and DIMMB2.

2. Tried to insert only one stick in DIMMA2.

3. Tried to short JBAT1 pins for 5-10 seconds to reset BIOS defaults.

4. Checked all the connectors and cables.

Any help would be appreciated thank you.

you need a bios version that supports at least agesa 1.0.8.0 version

Well, I don't know and it has no sticker or something about the BIOS but I guess X570 is compatible with Ryzen 5000 series out of the box.

One thing I know is that it's bios might not the be lastest version. Because at the time of it's manufacturing Ryzen 5000 wasn't available.

Then it's not compatible with Ryzen 5000. Which means you need to only have your MOBO and CPU installed + plugged in. Then initiate BIOS flashback.

Older X570 boards are NOT compatible with Ryzen 5000 out of the box. Only NEWER motherboards produced from e.g. November onwards are, which is why you need to update yours.

**TOPIC UPDATE**

I performed following steps.

I downloaded the latest BIOS from MSI website and put the ROM file on a flash drive which was formatted in FAT32, then I inserted the Flash drive in BIOS Flash USB port.

I unplugged and uninstall CPU, Disk Drives and GPU.

Then I pressed the flash button.

My PC started BIOS flash light flashed for around 3 minutes and then PC restarted and flash bios light turned off.

Then I turned the PC off and removed flash drive.

Installed CPU, GPU and disk drives and started the PC.

Still no display and now DRAM light is off and CPU is on.

**TOPIC UPDATE**

Today again I flashed BIOS using a USB 2.0 8GB. Performed the proper steps carefully.

Uninstalled everything except CPU.

ATX and CPU cables were inserted.

Flashed the BIOS and now CPU light fixed but DRAM light is on again.

Well this is the problem, I was on intel before this build. This is my first AMD build and don't have any 2000/3000 series CPU in hand.

**TOPIC UPDATE**

Today I went to a friend's house he had Ryzen 5 2600. I took his CPU, installed on my motherboard, PUT my RAM sticks and everything worked fine. PC posted, and I checked the BIOS, I got to know that I have the latest BIOS successfully Installed. But again to make things sure, I updated the BIOS using M-Flash. After successful BIOS update. I took his CPU out and put 5600X in and still the same DRAM led light is turning on with no display.

This is fraustating now.

Can anyone tell me if there are some specific settings that I need to change in BIOS to make my 5600X work?
