streaming/recording microphone issue

hi all i stream and make gaming content, i recently upgraded my mic due to having electrical interference, i upgraded to the yeti nano thinking all my problems would be solved and ended up bumping into more issues
the mic now pic up the sound of my keyboard which then i started to use RTX Voice to try and fix the issue now the main problem im now having is i cant see to get it all set up right were i sound professional , not pick up the sound of my keyboard, and not have my voice distorted if im loud or laugh,

ive tried a few stream group and no one seems to be able to help me with it,

also i record using shadowplay

so here what im thinking

do i change keyboard which i dont really wanna do

or do i upgrade to a XLR setup and buy a SM7B ?

any advice or help would be amazing as this issuse has plagued me for to long and starting to really annoy me.

here a clip for reference

Sounds fine.

I listened through a few previous streams and didn't hear the keyboard once. If it is occasionally a problem maybe use a gate so that when your not talking it doesn't pick up the typing sounds and you seemed like a loud enough person that it wouldn't be noticeable if you were talking.

If you use OBS right click on the audio source and go to flitters. Then the add button then noise gate. Then its just tweaking the threshold settings so that when typing on the keyboard the microphone is off but when you talk its on.

Another thought is you can get rubber things to go on the keys which reduce sound.

I don't think there is any need to upgrade. Your audio is perfectly acceptable, your clear and sound fine.

Thats a strange sound. Do the people your talking to in the voip also hear that or is it only on the recording and stream?

Ive just asked my friend who was there when i recorded that and he said no,

see at this point the amount of stress and time it has caused me might just have gone all out and got a SM7B from start

I think it maybe the recording software side. If the audio sounds fine to your friend the the microphone is clearly working.

Since its only when your loud my thought would be that your clipping the recording software. So maybe either turn down the gain in the recording software or maybe add a compressor. Again if you use OBS its in the audio filters section.

see when i record i record with shadow play,  see i record with RTX as well to get rid of the sound of my keyboard  but i cant seem to get the balance right between the gain of the microphone and how much RTX is on.

it ether to low that my keyboard is heard

or it to high that my voice get messed up

or equally my voice becomes really quite and still hear the keyboard

I suspect is something to do with shadow play since your friends in game or discord etc dont hear it since the RTX noise reducer thing is applied before the audio is sent to discord fortnite etc.
Just to verify my line of thought is it only on the recordings or is it also on the stream?

If it is only on recordings id suggest turning the volume down in the show play settings in gefroce audio menus. And if that doesnt help does using other software instead still result in the same problem?

the clips i sent you the first one was on stream using OBS  and the second one was recording using shadow play

ive tried to reduce the volume in shadow play but end with the same result,

ive tired recording with audacity and still has  the same issue with it

Now I know what im listening for Ive noticed the sound in the Twitch stream. didnt notice it first time due to the clapping etc.

Im thinking it maybe the RTX nvidia noise affects. Im guessing without having that you get your keyboard problems. Without the RTX stuff do you still get that glitchyness when your loud.

bang on the money my dude ! ,

see the what makes it worse is that navida really doesn't give any instruction on how to set it up and use the software correctly

no one seem to know anything ive posted in few forum and stream groups on fb and no one understand my issue or tell me things ive already tried

it not a simple fix as change keyboard because if i change then im getting a custom one so ethier way the upgrade not gonna be cheap

see this is why im back to my original post do i just go all out and get a SM7b full set up and then got nothing to worry about then ?

Its hard to say if the change in microphone will change much

Have you got the microphone in cardioid mode? If you dont do.

I think could improve the keyboard noise with microphone positioning. If you can get the keyboard behind the microphone. I think from the stream you got the microphone horisontal?

Yetis have never been high quality microphones, if you're certain you want a dynamic mic there are much better value options than the 7B. Personally I use a Behringer C2 and find that works just fine because of the highly directional polar pattern but dynamic mics will certainly reject a lot of background noise.

If you want to upgrade and need some general info the link in my signature will be quite helpful.

If you want to try and make that yeti work, get it closer to your mouth, turn the gain down and if that still has too much background noise try one of the open source RTX Voice alternatives.

cheers for the reply dude

to be honest at this point ive had enough of trying to get this to work and would rather spend the money on upgrading, the reason i got the yeti was because my friend swore by them and saw quite positive reviews on them, but for me seem  to be quite the opposite.

to be honest i think i need a lesson in audio 🤣 i really hate messing with it

so im thinking of getting the 7b because ive seen alot of people use it as there go to mic not to mention it stood it test of time

my question is, is the XLR GO the best option to go with for the interface ?

ill give the link a look now,

really appreciate the response

Unless you want the extra features of the Go XLR like the software sound effect buttons etc its not worth while. But if you do then there isnt anything which offers that kind of stuff.

Yeah so if you want those things go for it there just isnt anything doing that and I think youd like the software.

If you dont then you can get the same quality audio interface or 100 quid but it just be used for plugging the mic into the computer

Should work fine. The Go XLR has standard jack connections on the back. I cant remeber if the razer headset has two jacks or a combo. So at most you may need a splitter. I probably wouldnt plug the mic in.

aaahhh you got that one. Honestly I dont know in that case. I cant see why just setting your output as Razer Headset in windows wouldnt work and not plugging the razer headset into the GO XLR
