Budget (including currency): $100-$150 or maybe $200ish

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: boot drive, mass storage for steam library etc.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): n/a

Should I care if my nvme ssd is qlc or tlc for storing my steam library?

Also im getting a b550 and one slot is pcie gen 4 for the nvme slot, can I plug a gen 3 nvme on the gen4 slot? since I plan not to get a gen 4 nvme yet.

if you have a really tight budget don't get a b550

Also, watch OzTalksHW. He has some really great advice on building cheap computers.

Nah its not abt the budget, its just the justification of spending that kind of money on an ssd (storage per $ and if its worth gen 4)

yes you can use the gen 4 slot. there isn't a huge difference, especially in gaming, but generally tlc drives will be faster, so if the price difference is small, it's usually worth it for the long term

Yo thanks man. Saved me some since there isnt a huge difference. THANKS!
