gpu usage

why does my gpu usage drop to 50% when i plug in my laptop but when its unpluged i get 100% gpu usage and +20 fps on battlefront 2, also i have i7700 hq and 1060 max q

That's normal. In many laptops you get less performance when running on battery.

no i get more fps when on battery thats the problem

Oops. Misunderstanding on my part.

 

Maybe you're running on the high-performance setting on battery and you forgot to also set this for the charging mode.

Check your windows power plan settings. Also the energy settings in your GPU driver.

i set power option to high preformance nvidia power manegment to max but that didnt help at all  then i turned off nvidia whisper mode and now i went form 40 to 90-120 fps i dont understand how that reduced my gpu usage when pluged in but yea ty tho
