GTX 690 in an eGPU enclosure anyone? (on Linux)

huntaray

Hello! I have an old GTX 690 lying around and I thought it would be a good use of the card in an eGPU enclosure until I can get my hands on a 3060 Ti or 3070. My laptop is a Dell Precision 5510, which has a thunderbolt 3 port with 2 lanes.

I run Ubuntu 20.04 LTS exclusively, so that’s what I’d like to use it on. I know that Ubuntu has support for eGPUs but I have no idea how dual GPU cards work inside eGPU enclosures.

Would I be able to use both GPUs on the single card in Linux? Would it even work at all?

Thanks a ton!
